Spruce Class

Class Name: Spruce

Class Teacher: Alison

Term: 2

Date Completed: April 2019

Topic this term: Habitats

Our topic this term has been HABITATS. We have been learning about animals and their different habitats. We enjoyed learning about jungle animals like the tiger and arctic animals such as polar bears.  We explored different habitats around the school such as bird nests, and grass areas for small insects.

As a class we have visited Hall Place and looked at habitat of the butterflies. Our artwork, based on tiger paintings, were exhibited at the Stables Gallery at Hall Place. We were very proud to be presented with a certificate! We also created dioramas of different habitats and are submitting these for Arts Award Explore certification. We celebrated in style for both World Book Day and Red Nose Day. We all enjoyed a fun and festive term.

Topic next term: Superheroes

We have a range of exciting activities planned both indoor and outdoor.

Please do not forget to send in any WOW moments from home, we will add these into your child’s learning journey.  If you need more wow stars, just ask!

Happy Spring break from Spruce Class.

As your child is in Year 1 – Year 6 their holistic progress is being tracked via our own bespoke assessment system called Shenstone Stepping Stones. Learning journeys highlight and celebrate the progress that your child has made. The table you will have been sent with your child's individual newsletter highlights where your child is in each area of learning.
