Parent/Carer Coffee Mornings / Sessions on Topics of Interest
Dawn Lyman, Shenstone's Family Wellbeing Coordinator, arranges various sessions/coffee mornings so parents can connect/benefit from useful topic discussions. Dawn has arranged -
Parent/Carer Well Being Coffee Morning on 28th February 2020 - Mindfulness Workshop presented by Pascale Berthellet. It was a great opportunity to get together and escape from our busy lives and focus on our wellbeing.
Pascale helped us understand the importance of being Mindful and living in the moment. She showed us some simple exercise we could do. These helped remind us to take time out to re-focus and be more aware of our present lives, rather than dwelling on the past or anticipating the future. She also helped us understand ways of letting go of negative thoughts and channelling them into positives.
Pascale left us with this quote –
Past is history.
Present is a gift.
Future is a mystery.
Parents’ comments –
"I came away feeling so much more positive."
"It helped me think about channelling my emotions and thoughts in a more positive way."
