Fun with Numbers Day
Shenstone School held a “Fun with Numbers Day” on Friday 5 February 2021.
Children and Staff were encouraged to come to school wearing clothing or accessories decorated with numbers, we also invited our home learners to join in too.
The Teachers planned lots of fun number activities throughout the first week of February and especially on Friday 5th February.

Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 9 February 2021
We supported Safer Internet Day on 9 February.

Circus Workshops
We enjoyed circus workshops at both sites during the the Spring term 2020 with Lucas Jet, a renowned Circus performer.
The children and staff were treated to a morning circus show and circus workshop sessions. We all had lots of fun.

Art of Brilliance Project
During the first week back from half term 2020, the children took part in our ‘Art of Brilliance’ project which incorporated activities linked to Creative Arts and Wellbeing!
We are hoping to become an Outstandingly Happy School and will update you soon on events!

World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 4 March 2021 children and staff were encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite book character to celebrate WBD.

Jeans for Genes Day
On Friday 17 September 2021 we asked pupils and staff to wear their denim to raise awareness of the charity Jeans for Genes!
Jeans for Genes is the annual fund raising event for the genetic disorder community.

Due to COVID restrictions we were unable to hold our Coffee Morning this year but are hoping to do so next time around.

#HelloYellow / World Mental Health Day
We are holding our Non-Uniform Day on Friday 15 October 2021 to raise vital awareness for the charity YoungMinds.
We are looking forward to seeing lots of children and Staff wearing yellow.

Black History Month
The children at Shenstone took part in lots of activities during Black History Month back in October. The children looked at Black History Heroes like Nelson Mandela, Bob Marley and Martin Luther-King as well as people like Mo Farrah, Will Smith and Beyonce from more recent times! They also took part in art, music and story activities relating to Black History as well as learning about the importance of friendship and equality.

Remembrance Activities
St Paulinus Church invited some of the children from Crayford to paint a poppy on a stone and place it on one of the war graves in their churchyard. They allocated one of their graves for Private Horace Hyland Pioneer Corps 2nd April 1942 Located in Section J, Row 10, Plot 19.
We felt privileged to able to take part and mark this special event.

Children in Need – Fundraising Friday
The BBC Children in Need 2020 Appeal Show took place on 13 November, so we asked both Pupils and Staff to wear something spotty or yellow and the children took part in lots of fun activities.
We did not collect any cash donations but encouraged everyone to support online or by donating via the links during the show.

Parent/Carer Virtual Coffee Morning
Dawn Lyman, Shenstone's Family Wellbeing Coordinator, arranged a Parent/Carer Virtual Coffee Morning on Tuesday 8 December 2020 so parents could connect, to welcome new parents/carers and for Dawn to introduce herself.
