Coronavirus - Further Information (5.3.20)

Dear Parents/Carers

Re: Coronavirus - Further Information

There is now international concern regarding the Coronavirus and we are aware this is a worrying time for everyone; but please be assured we are doing everything we can do to protect all of our pupils and staff at Shenstone School. At the present time there is no need to self-isolate unless you have had contact with a confirmed case, have travelled from a category 1 area or have travelled from a category 2 area and have a fever, dry cough and breathing difficulties.

If you are still concerned the Department of Education is operating a special hotline for parents which you can contact on: 0800 046 8687 from 8:00am to 6:00pm (Monday to Friday) or email: DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk.

If at any time you are advised by NHS 111 that you need to self-isolate and be tested then please do let us know.

Parents will be notified immediately should we have any suspected or confirmed cases of infection within School but until this point we would encourage you to remain calm and follow the Government's advice on prevention.

Further information is available at:

We would also like to reassure you that we always make hygiene a priority and especially at this time we are continuing to reinforce the importance of:

  • Thorough hand washing using soap and water.

  • Coughing or sneezing into a tissue and then disposing of the tissue in an appropriate bin.

We would really appreciate you reinforcing these messages at home too.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely
